Relaxer Day---- My failed texlax

Sunday, May 01, 2016

Hey Hairgineers,

Happy New month & Workers day y'all. My relax was on the 17th of April 2016, at #23weekspostrelaxer i finally relaxed my hair. I must say it was a struggle between my mind and I on whether to texlax or not, now that the whole Naija ladies are going natural, but my mind no gree go natural yet loolz, so i texlaxed.

A WEEK BEFORE THE TEXLAX

A week before i had prepped my hair for relaxer day, the post can be found here.

TEXLAX DAY

On my texlax day, i sectioned my hair into four sections and coated my already relaxed ends with Roux Porosity Control Corrector & Conditioner to prevent my ends from the harsh process of relaxing.
I usually use ORS lye relaxer but because of the many good review i had read on Silk Element No-lye relaxer i decided to try their lye relaxer, which was purchased with my last hair product haul, Read Post
The relaxer application and smoothing process took exactly 15 mins. I noticed at my last texlax that the hair at the back was really under-processed, so relaxer application started from there.

Relaxer Application

Deep conditioning

Product Used:
Relaxer Products
- Relaxer: Silk Element Relaxer
-Neutralizing Shampoo:  Motion Neutralizing Shampoo
-Deep Conditioner: Shea Moisture Deep conditioning masque+ grapeseed oil
-Leave-in: ApHogee Keratin & Green Tea Reconstructor
-Sealant: Grapeseed oil.

-Relaxed End Protector: Roux Porosity Control & Corrector Conditioner
-Vaseline to base my scalp.

RESULT

If there is anything like a setback on texlax, i would  say this is what i just had. My result was not texlaxed but relaxed. The relaxer processed my hair to a full relax even in that short period. I really was very surprised, because i bought the mild relaxer, so i do not know where the process went wrong.

Though my hair came out nice and fluffy and there was more like absolutely no breakage, i didn't get the texlax result i wanted.

ACTION POINT.

I am not going to throw or give away my relaxer just yet, i will still try it one more time, but then i will mix it with a conditioner to further downgrade its strength.

That's it guys,

Have you joined the natural hair wagon or are you still with us on cream cracker, loolz?

  1. You can try mixing oils in your relaxer to make it mild.
